At Erste Asset Management, there are various opportunities to start your career and continue your professional development. A summer internship or internship can be the first step toward a long-term career with us. Direct entry as a junior professional or as an experienced specialist is also possible.
As your experience grows, you can take on greater responsibility and shape your own career path. Different development opportunities are available: you can deepen your expertise and become a subject matter expert in your field, or you can pursue a leadership career and take responsibility for a team. Many of our colleagues started their journey as interns or junior professionals and have developed into experts or leaders over the years.

Summer internship
Our summer internship is aimed at motivated students. During the summer break, you can gain your first professional experience with Austria’s leading asset manager. You’ll get to know everyday working life, take on responsibility, and build a wide network of contacts. Even the executive board and second-level management take time for a conversation, giving you insights into the company and their career paths. For many of our current employees, the internship was the first step toward a long-term career at Erste Asset Management.
The summer internship is available during July, August, and September. It lasts a minimum of two months, preferably three months. You will have the opportunity to gain experience across different areas such as Investment Division, Risk Management, Legal, or Communications. The application process for summer internships begins in December of the previous year. We look forward to your support!
Duration: 2–3 months in summer (July to September)
Mandatory internship
Do you need to complete a mandatory internship, or would you like to gain practical experience during or after your studies? Then apply for a six-month internship with us. As an intern, you will become part of one of our teams and gain valuable insights into the asset management industry. This is an excellent opportunity to build practical experience while getting to know Erste Asset Management as an employer.
Duration: 6 months
Junior
Would you like to start your career at Erste Asset Management and grow professionally? We are continuously looking for talented individuals with relevant educational backgrounds, internship experience, or initial professional experience. As a junior, you will bring fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to our team. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge, take on new challenges, and gradually assume greater responsibility.
Work experience: 0–2 years
Specialist
Do you have experience in the financial industry and are looking for new challenges? As a specialist, you can make excellent use of the knowledge gained through your professional experience. Get actively involved with us. Help shape processes and take on responsibility. For example, you may manage a specific product or work on a variety of projects. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to further deepen your expertise and continue your professional development.
Work experience: minimum 3 years
Senior
Would you like to improve financial processes and implement new strategies? As a senior at Erste Asset Management, you bring extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge. Your responsibilities include developing plans, strategies, and concepts. You will also contribute to the design of methods and standards while introducing innovative approaches and solutions. As a senior, you can either continue to specialize in your area of expertise or develop toward a leadership role.
Work experience: minimum 5 years
Leadership position
Would you like to help shape the future of Erste Asset Management in a leadership role? Success in this position requires entrepreneurial thinking, customer focus, and strong communication skills. The ability to look beyond your own area of responsibility and collaborate across functions is equally important. As a leader, you serve as a role model and coach for your team, supporting employees in their professional development. At the same time, you contribute to the strategic development and long-term success of Erste Asset Management.
Work experience: minimum 7 years
