Erste Asset Management is focusing on digitalisation as an investment theme

  • New ERSTE DIGITAL ASSETS fund invests in technology, energy, security, and cryptocurrencies
  • An all-in-one solution across the digital value chain – a combination of global equities, thematic ETFs, and crypto investments
  • Please note: investments in securities, and in particular in cryptocurrencies, involve risks. There is no guarantee of a positive investment return.

With the new ERSTE DIGITAL ASSETS fund (ISIN AT0000A3S438 T), Erste Asset Management (Erste AM) is expanding its range to include an innovative investment approach that specifically targets the structural growth drivers of the digital economy. The fund combines traditional equity investments with thematic investments and crypto-assets, thereby reflecting the increasing interconnection of key future technologies.

The digital transformation is increasingly shaped by the interplay of several key areas. Artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, new business models, and data-driven applications are driving innovation and investment. At the same time, the demand for energy, security, and stable infrastructure is rising. “Digitalisation is increasingly evolving into an integrated ecosystem in which technologies, energy supply, and security are closely interlinked. With the ERSTE DIGITAL ASSETS fund, we are creating a solution that comprehensively reflects this development,” emphasises Markus Kaller, Head of Retail Sales at Erste Asset Management.

Digitalisation as long-term growth driver

The rapid development of artificial intelligence and data-driven business models is leading to a growing demand for computing power, infrastructure, and energy. At the same time, issues such as cybersecurity and resilient systems are becoming increasingly important. The fund takes these trends into account across the entire value chain and invests specifically in companies and technologies that are driving this transformation. These include, amongst others:

  • AI and Big Data
  • Cybersecurity
  • Digital infrastructure
  • Renewable forms of energy
  • Blockchain technologies

This holistic approach means that digitalisation is not viewed in isolation, but rather as the interplay of several structural trends.

Broadly diversified access to the digital economy

ERSTE DIGITAL ASSETS is designed as a multi-asset solution, offering investors easy access to various components of the digital economy:

  • 50% global equity ETFs as robust basis
  • 30% thematic ETFs focusing on future-oriented themes such as artificial intelligence, Big Data, cyber security, alternative energy, and gaming
  • Up to 20% crypto assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum

The portfolio holdings shown reflect market conditions as at 17 March 2026. As part of active management, the portfolio positions mentioned may change at any time.

A key feature of the fund is the integration of cryptocurrencies into a regulated fund vehicle. The exposure is achieved via exchange-traded products (ETPs) within clearly defined limits. “This gives investors access to this asset class without having to worry about custody, trading, or technical implementation themselves – all within a diversified overall portfolio,” explains Erste AM expert Kaller.

The fund thus combines traditional capital market investments with new forms of digital investment in a single solution. Asset allocation is managed actively and independently of any benchmark index. “By combining established equity markets with innovative digital assets, we offer investors a structured way to benefit from the increasing digitalisation of the economy – without having to manage the individual components themselves,” Kaller concludes.

Long-term investment horizon and increased volatility

The fund is geared towards long-term capital growth and is aimed in particular at risk-aware investors with an appropriate risk tolerance. Due to the combination of different asset classes – particularly the proportion of crypto-assets – the fund may experience increased levels of volatility. Please note that investing in securities involves risks as well as the opportunities described.
